The brief, as outlined by joint stakeholders Adelaide Mosque and Trinity Church, was to create a place for contemporary worship, paying particular attention to the culture and beliefs of the Kaurna people. During the design process we heard from multiple Kaurna community members on both Kaurna culture and lore as well as how to incorporate these elements into an architectural language.

Taikondi - “coming together” in the Kaurna language - a spiritual centre celebrating the connection between land, water and sky. Unifying and welcoming the many cultures and beliefs of Adelaide.
A place to gather, to share knowledge and culture, to celebrate and to mourn. A universal space for people of all cultures, faith and non-faith, that acknowledges the Kaurna beliefs and heritage.
